Static Shelving
It is a storage method designed to be fixed in one place and is used for storing light (less than 500g) items in most cases, but depending on the characteristics of the warehouse, different items are loaded on each level, also heavy items. It is especially used when storing inventory that requires constant replenishment.
In the case of loading only light objects, it is designed in consideration of the movement line suitable for manual work, but when loading heavy objects, it must be designed in consideration of the entry, exit and movement of a forklift.
Mobile Shelving
A mobile shelf is a type of shelf designed to help you store more in a smaller space. Basically similar to a fixed shelf, but with a carriage or rail system mounted on the shelf, or designed to be transported by AMR, it eliminates a fixed aisle and allows for easier access to inventory even when space is tight. Pallet Racking
Pallet racking is a system for storing large items that require pallets. In general, vertical space is used to increase the storage density. For warehauses with active material flow, this system is usually treated as the heart of the operation. Depending on the height to be loaded, forklifts or automated mechanisms are used.
There are several types of pallet racking systems, in most cases the choice is made based on weight limitations, flexibility, and whether the system requires changes to the existing infrastructure.
Multi-Tier Racking
This system is designed for warehouses with limited floor space but high usable heights. This is a manual storage solution that allows you to stack items in high places by creating multiple tiers to maximize storage space utilization. This system is an excellent choice for stacking small items, with the flexibility to add or remove layers depending on the situation.
Making good use of this system requires strategically organizing each level of load items, packing items as densely as possible, but at the same time paying attention to weight limits and compliance guidelines from ceiling to rack height.
Mezzanine Flooring
Also called Rack Mezzanine or Storage Mezzanine, or Warehouse Mezzanine Floor. The mezzanine is designed based on the Storage Rack System.
It is a productive and space-saving option that can be designed to provide easier access to inventory while functionally improving storage space. However, it is also a viable option of you have the budget and your strategic warehouse layout allows it.
